Happy National Pet Day from our family to yours! Did you know that National Pet Day was started to celebrate pets and raise awareness for shelter animals?

My siblings and I are super lucky. We were each adopted from local shelters by our mommy, cared for, and raised to be the lovable cats we are today. Now our family is happier and healthier than ever.

This year, I’m teaming up with Thermotex and spcaLA to give the gift that gives back. Here are my top 4 tips to celebrate #NationalPetDay, the Nala way!

  1. Adopt a pet! I found my forever home, but many cats and pups are still waiting. Over 6.5 million companion animals enter shelters in the U.S. every year, and many are euthanized due to overpopulation. If you’re thinking about adding a new member to the family, consider adopting a pet in need from a local shelter like spcaLA.

  1. Spay or neuter your pets: Spaying and neutering is a proven way to prevent overpopulation, helping more animals live healthy and full lives. Regular trips to the vet also keep me feeling my best.

  1. Treat your furry friends: Even after we are adopted, shelter animals like me sometimes need extra care and attention. When I’m not cuddling up to mommy, curling up in my Thermotex warming bed feels purrrfect on my little legs. Did you know that by the time we are 7, most of us felines suffer from Arthritis? The far infrared heat helps to nurse pets back to health, healing tired, achy, sore muscles. Use the code SPCALA10 to save 10% off the Thermotex Pet Line from April 11 – 21.

  1. Support your local shelters: Shelters like spcaLA save animals in need, offering a safe home, adoption opportunities, and compassionate care. As a non-profit, they rely on help from passionate donors and volunteers. From April 11 – 21st, 10% of your purchase from the Thermotex Pet Line will be donated directly to spcaLA!

Many of us companion animals rely on the love of our human companions to survive. We’re so thankful for the care we receive on National Pet Day and every day.
